While the weather was sometimes challenging, with both hot sun and drenching rain, the fields stayed in good shape and all the teams were able to play their three "pool" games and a playoff game. The U14 Boys team won their division, U19 Boys finished in third place, and U19 Girls took fourth place, while the U10 Boys gained experience playing competitive teams from other areas of the state. 

 

The U14 Boys Team qualified for the final championship by going undefeated in pool play.   Recording their first match vs. Mundelein with a 4-0 win, and then the second and third matches were teams that traveled from Iowa witih a 2-1 and 4-1 wins respectively and  finally with a championship game of 7-2 vs. Zion. 

In addition to their game results, each team was graded on sportsmanship in three areas: players, coaches, and fans. 

Peterson Park AYSO 183 also take great pride with "good sportsmanship".    All players representing our teams understand the value of "good sportsmanship" where  our U19 Girls and U14 Girls teams won the team sportsmanship awards for their divisions and the U19 Boys shared the sportsmanship award with the team from Skokie.

 

Thank you to the parents who volunteered and supported the games and to the AYSO Region 183 Peterson Park staff who were part of the planning of the tournament.  Each team had to provide certified volunteers who were all certified and approved.   Each team listed provided Certified Coach - Age Level Certified Coach, AYSO Safe Haven Certified Team Parent Volunteer, and a Certified Referee to help staff the tournament.

We would also like to give congrats to our Intermediate Coach Candidates who also completed Advanced Coach Certification during the weekend with game observations at the Section Six Games.
