Wait List
Almost all teams in a divisions are full with players at maximum roster size and we have almost completed with assignment of volunteer coaches for each team.
We may have players on the wait list for a division. If we have large number of players on a wait list, this means we are waiting for 2 volunteers to step up so that we can possibly create 2 new teams and add to a division. Please email [email protected] to inquire about the wait list status.
Each division may have additional capacity to add more teams, but we do need more volunteers to start creating more teams. This would mean that we have a lot of families on the wait list to create more teams.
If you are interested in coaching, please contact [email protected] , the more volunteers that step up and coach, the more kids on the wait list stop playing video game soccer and start playing real-life soccer at Peterson and Hollywood Parks. It's time for them to get out an play!
How popular is the wait list ?
We don't want the list to be popular. When we get more volunteers to help, the wait list is not popular at all. Let's keep it that way. Step up and volunteer.
Everyone Plays®
AYSO's goal is for all players to play soccer, so we mandate that every player on every team must play at least 50 percent of every game.
In Region 183, our goal is to ensure that all players play 3/4 of a game before any player plays a full game.
How does a team get created?
A team is created when we have a volunteer that steps up to coach a team and we have enough players to create a team from a minimum number of players on a team to the maximum.
Interested in being that volunteer coach to get more kids to play more soccer?

Why does AYSO have a maximum number of players per team?
Everyone Plays! This is a CORE philosophy in AYSO. Every player on a team must play at least half of every game and if a team has a full team (max roster size), every player must play 3/4 of a game before any player plays a full game.
Hint: If you do the math. Each AYSO game is 4 quarters. Every player is rotated to play each quarter evenly with the assumption that all players get to play the game 3/4 before a full.
Hint: If a team has more than the max, there will be some players that play 3/4 and some that play 1/2. Players will meet the minimum of the AYSO Everyone Plays Core Philosophy.
Hint: We have some teams that have less than max. Some players will play 3/4 and some will play full. We'd like for all players to report to games but some players are not able to make all games. Those players that report to games meet the "Everyone Plays". We like to make sure that all players play the game of soccer and support the team. Everyone plays!
How many players are on a team ?
Good Question! We follow United States Soccer Federation Youth Standards with regards to short-sided play. Short Sided Play means that games are smaller than the adult game of 11 players vs. 11 players. What you see on video when the professional play in MLS or FIFA games (ie. World Cup). Here is a the chart.
