Overview

There are multiple steps required for registering as a volunteer. 
At a high level they are:

• Register as a Volunteer
• Take Required Volunteer Training
• Register for appropriate Training Course via AYSOU
• Take Classes

In order to volunteer, please log into AYSO183.org as you had to during registration, if you haven’t previously, you can create a new account.

After logging in navigate to “My Account”

Once there, look for the section called “My Roles & Certificates”

Scroll down to the bottom of that section and select “+ Add Volunteer”

You’ll see default roles for Coach/Asst./Team Parent
If you're looking for other roles, like Referee or Board Member, to the right there will be a button for “Show All Available Opportunities”, click that and follow the prompts.

Take Required Volunteer Training

Log back into AYSO183.org , this time navigate to Volunteer.

If you’ve not volunteered previously (or it’s been a while), you’ll also need to take a handful of smaller classes and submit for a background check (free of charge).

Good news is if you want to volunteer in other ways here at AYSO183, you only need to take these classes once!

The following classes may be required depending on the role you're volunteering for. Each is relatively short and only needs to be completed every couple of years. Click the checkbox next to the one you want to start.

Next, click the “Renew and Update” button in the lower right hand corner, follow the prompts.

Register for appropriate Training Course via AYSOU

Back on AYSO183.org, under your profile there is a section called AYSOU, click on it and it will take you to the site where you can register for your classes. It can take a couple of seconds for the SSO to work and redirect. 

It is important to check requirements for the type of training you're looking for.  Typically the coach and referee training have both an online module and in-person module.  The online module should be completed prior to in-person component.  If successful you should a screen similar to the following:

Once there, navigate to the class you want (works best if based on location) and enroll.
